cPanel & WHM version 98 for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

Overview

This document details information for cPanel & WHM’s experimental software version for Ubuntu® LTS. cPanel & WHM version 98 is available for use in servers running Ubuntu 20.04.

We’ve written this document for advanced WHM users who are familiar with installing Ubuntu in their servers. For more information, read our Installation Guide.

We tested cPanel & WHM version 98 in the following environments:

• Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

Changes that impacted functionality

These are the biggest changes in Ubuntu 20.04 that affected functionality in cPanel & WHM:

• Ubuntu 20.04 uses apt for package installation (versus yum package installer for Red Hat-based systems).

Functionality

Currently, functionality of cPanel & WHM version 98 for Ubuntu 20.04 is limited to the following interfaces and functions:

• Installation — Users should be able to successfully install cPanel & WHM version 98 in an Ubuntu 20.04 server.
  • cPanel DNSOnly® — cPanel & WHM version 98 for Ubuntu 20.04 does not support cPanel DNSOnly.

    • EasyApache4 Interface
      • EasyApache 4 only provides the cPanel Default profile in cPanel & WHM version 98 for Ubuntu 20.04.
      • The list of currently available .deb packages will successfully support a WordPress® installation. However, not all EasyApache 4 .deb packages are available for use. The interface will alert you about any unavailable packages. We will add new .deb packages as we complete development.
