cPanel & WHM version 92 for CentOS 8

Overview

This document details information for cPanel & WHM’s software releases for CentOS 8. cPanel & WHM version 92 is available for use in servers running CentOS 8.

We tested cPanel & WHM version 92 in the following environments:

• CentOS 8

Changes that impacted functionality

These are the biggest changes in CentOS 8 that affected functionality in cPanel & WHM:

• CentOS 8 removed support for the TCP Wrappers package (tcp_wrappers).

Functionality

Currently, functionality of cPanel & WHM version 92 for CentOS 8 is limited to the following interfaces and functions:

• Installation — Users should be able to successfully install cPanel & WHM version 92 in a CentOS 8 server.

    • FTP Server Configuration — We removed the TCPwrappers section from the interface. This section appeared when a user installed ProFTPD.
    • FTP Server Selection — We removed the string “Supports TCP Wrappers based access controls.” from the ProFTPD Advantages cell.

    Warning:

    MySQL 8 is the default database service for cPanel & WHM version 92 for CentOS 8. During the installation process, system administrators have the ability to select the default database between MySQL 8 and MariaDB 10.3 only. For more information, read our Installation Guide.
